Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to retire resonated around the football community worldwide. Ever since Sir Alex Ferguson’s time at the Theatre Of Dreams came to a halt, every manager that the Manchester United club appointed has failed to fill in the shoes of possibly the greatest manager of all time. Subsequent managers failed to inspire confidence amongst players. Honestly speaking, neither the Scottish nor the Dutch manager seemed to be a reasonable fit for the club. The only manager who has showcased his intellectual prowess in terms of football tactics and has managed to outwit Sir Alex Ferguson numerous times is the self proclaimed ‘Special One’ José Mourinho.

José Mourinho

There have been a few men who have managed to draw attention towards themselves in terms of fans, media and other managers quite like José Mourinho. He is the latest recruit in the squad of the Red Devils and is undoubtedly the ideal manager for the club. José Mourinho has achieved several milestones and accolades in the beautiful game of football. The Portuguese manager is a proven winner and that is the only ingredient the club requires currently to overcome the barriers restricting their peak performance potential.

José Mourinho is known to play mostly on holding back and attack on the counter, an approach where winning is a bonus and losing is not an insult. He is known to grind out results in rough games and his focus is always on winning.

José Mourinho is not the solution

It is an unusual moment for Chelsea and its supporters as the greatest manager in their club history will now try to guide one of their biggest rivals to regain the throne in English Football. It is a fact that Manchester United has not come close in terms of regaining the title ever since Sir Alex left the club. Although José Mourinho is not a long term fix for the club he is guaranteed to bring success to Old Trafford as he shares the same hunger for victory as the club. One of the major qualms in terms of Mourinho is his neglect of young players. However, this will alter during his tenure at Manchester United since youth development is a major aspect in relation to the prior success of the club.

José Mourinho’ s Strategy

José Mourinho will look to improve the defence and central mid-field of the team, which has undoubtedly been the Achilles’ heel for a while now. He will look to sign immensely hand-working players during the transfer season and preferably employ the contemporary 4-2-3-1 formation. The club recently signed the renowned striker Zlatan Ibrahamovic, who is recognized for his innovative goal scoring techniques and flamboyant personality. Even though he is merely a free transfer, his presence on the field will surely make an impact. Mourinho is planning immense changes for the club already, as there are transfer rumours linked with Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes. With a couple of concrete game defying signings this summer along with the unbounded optimism only a United fan can possess, nothing short of greatness can be achieved.
